Hiukan erikoisempi soitin. Soittimessa äänirasia pysyy paikallaan ja levylautanen liikkuu.

“This turntable/piece of modern art, made by David Gammon from 1978 to 1981, is a “parallel tracking” turntable.  Unlike a modern linear tracking turntable, the stylus/arm does not move, rather the spinning platter moves under it.  A normal linear tracking turntable usually sounds better because it stays exactly in the middle of the groove as it moves across from song to song.  What is revolutionary about this turntable is that by having the platter move under the stylus, the stylus is not doing the pulling, rather it is free to ride the groove and translate music as its only responsibility.”
